THE CONFERENCES-A DISCUSSION ON PEACE

This workshop, consists of a one hour session for a maximum of 30 students, during which the students exchange their general academic knowledge on the following themes:

  • How have we managed to live in peace for the past 70 years in France, Europe, and generally in the West?

France as a free country and a democracy / Europe, as a democratic continent  for 70 years is a reminder of the events and outcome of the Second World War, and serves as a reminder of the ongoing creation of international organisations which all strive toward a peaceful and unified world.

France (and Europe), as a secular state which respects the freedom of culture and religion.

The big religions residing in France are presented and clearly explained, through examining their diversity, traditions and richness of their cultures. Finally, an explanation of the establishment of the Islamic State in 2014 and its ongoing impact on international stability, is presented.

Unequal distribution of natural resources across the world (energy and dietary resources), the lack of both types of resources play roles in developing further conflicts.

  • How to reinstate trust and restore peace?

Human factors:  By promoting the aspects of good will and humanity of all peoples (children and adults) will consequently create a respectful and benevolent climate. Students are encouraged to participate, here, by discussing their points of view on this topic, communicate their ideas, projects and personal experience. Also discussed, is the necessity to establish and utilise a dialogue and communication as a conduit of a peaceful world.

During a period in which the geopolitical context seems more delicate and fragile as ever

The SDDF hopes to respond to all inquiries in regards to children, developing the notion of a benevolent and culture education, involving civic youth,  imprinting the understanding of the past in order to strengthen their future in a free world and above all, based on peace.
The objective is to  involve and attract schools and institutes to hold these peace conferences, at a reasonable price, in order to, in turn, organise as many peace conferences as possible to teach peace to as many youths as we can reach.
